Happy Times at Crabby Joes!

Hi Ladies,

Our May social gathering was anything but crabby! We met at Crabby Joe's in Aurora for some munchies, drinks and great conversation. A fabulous way to spend a Wednesday night. (Take a look at those nachos I devoured!)

Mark your calendars for our fundraiser for cancer research on June 9! More information coming soon!

Martinis & Manicures & Laura's Birthday!

Hello Ladies,

As I'm typing this, I'm admiring my fabulous manicure. Thanks to the girls at BareCare Esthetics, we are all sporting fabulous toes and fingernails. This is always one of my favourite events of the year -- a chance to be pampered, drink girly drinks and chat with friends. Michelle P brought along some of her stunning jewelry and great Avon products so we got to do some shopping (yay!) too. A special thanks to Holly for hosting the event in her beautiful home!

A highlight of the evening was the cake....I mean, Laura's birthday. Ha! Our President looked splendid and not a day over 30! She successfully blew out the candles on both cakes (vanilla + chocolate), so I hope she gets her wish. She deserves it for all the great work she does for our club.

Hope you are all enjoying this Spring weather and I look forward to seeing you in May!

: ) Mich

January Social - SHHHHHHHHH - It's Bingo Time!!!

Thanks to Laura Stratton for this guest post (since I missed out on the fun BINGO Night):

Did some body say "shhh" or "keep it down"... there is no keeping us down, eh ladies? Some of my favourite memories of the night are: "Balls", "Blue Balls" and "what number was called???"...I am still in shock that NOT ONE of us got bingo - well, maybe we DID but since we couldn't really keep up, we never found out!

As most of you know we were supposed to go to Milestones after BINGO for some Bellinis and appetizers but there was a little "glitch"....thankfully Kelsey's welcomed us with open arms (and pocket books) and we got to enjoy some delish appetizers (well, except Mel and I who are detoxing this month but I must say my carrot and celery sticks were mighty tasty!).

I did speak with the Milestones head office and the general manager who was mortified by what happened that evening (us getting turned away at the door) and has asked if he can make it up to us in March (and who am I to turn away free stuff?). He is welcoming us after our March Movie Night and is going to cover our appetizers (so nice!) and in his own words:

"I am very thankful for this opportunity to show your membership the great service they should of received the first time in. As previously mentioned I will be taking care of your appetizers that evening as well. Laura I can not thank you enough for allowing Milestones a second chance. I do not know if we were in opposite shoes if I would be as forgiving."

He is also sending me gift certificates to include in our silent auction in June. I for one am all about forgiveness and am looking forward to giving them another chance in March! See you all in February (get ready to get hot and sweaty!!!)

Ho-ho-holiday Party & Hilarious Gift Exchange

Wow! We had a fabulous turnout for our Holiday Party at Graystones Restaurant on December 9. After Schnitzel, wine, and other goodies, some of us even hit the dance floor to work off our delicious dinners.

As always, the Gift Exchange was the highlight of the evening. Who can forget the sight of Sophia fighting Nancy for the jewelry? Or Laura's never-ending search for the Crockpot? Good times.

What Happened to November?

Hi Ladies,

The November meeting was so much fun -- ask anyone who spent some time with the Fortune Teller. I had my camera but was so busy talking and eating, I forgot to take photos. Sorry!

I am counting down: as I write this, there's just 29 hours until our Christmas party. Don't forget to bring your gift so you can participate in the Gift Exchange - it's hilarious and a ton o' fun. And don't forget to carpool or bring some cab fare so you can truly get into the Holiday spirit(s)!

See you soon,

Michelle

Celebrating Octoberfest @ Fox & Fiddle!

We had a fabulous turnout on Wednesday at the Fox & Fiddle on Davis Drive! We enjoyed lots of laughter, yummy food and tipsy beverages. I think we may have depleted their nacho supply!

We saw some unforgettable Karaoke performances from some Newcomers -- and from someone who may have been Elvis (not sure).

Our getting-to-know-you game was a huge hit (literally -- Nancy really knows how to throw a ball!), Sophia busted a groove for us once again, and our waitresses did a great job keeping track of who ordered what. Another great evening! Thankfully Laura is still preggo and offered me a ride home. I look forward to returning the favour once her baby has arrived and she's ready to indulge in some bevvies!

See you in November.

Welcome to all the new and returning Newmarket & Area Newcomers! Almost 50 women came out to our September meeting (at my house! 50 people! that's a record!) for wine, munchies, games, chatter and laughter. It was a fabulous night, and a great kick-off to another year of fun. Thanks for coming out ....see you in October-fest!
